I am one of the politicians @loisrogersnews from @DailyMailUK spoke to. I have ALWAYS been willing to discuss this ON THE RECORD. It's a betrayal of women that others won't.

Things are worse for some groups of women - for example, in the UK, black women are 5 times more likely than white women to die from complications in pregnancy or childbirth.

Historically, medical and clinical trials fail to carry out adequate tests on female subjects or don't bother at all. For example: the safety tests on a female libido drug (Addyi) were carried out on 23 men and only 2 women, before the product went to market.

Diagnosis is another fault line. Studies show that women are routinely diagnosed significantly later than men in relation to more than 700 diseases. For cancer, women were diagnosed two and a half years later than men. For diabetes, four and a half years later.

This is pervasive structural so political will & decisive action are needed.

London is home to many of the world's best research hospitals, most accomplished medical professionals, and titans of medical research such as the Wellcome Trust.

Corona virus has highlighted the importance of being purposeful and deliberate about examining health policy and outcomes through the lens of how men and women differently affected. The time to act is NOW. Women and everyone deserves better than the current status quo.
