Originally built in 1846 as a turntable engine shed for the London & Birmingham Railway

The @RoundhouseLDN was originally designed by Robert B. Dockray & Robert Stephenson for maintaining & storing goods engines. Here you can see Dockray’s plans

However rolling stock rapidly became too big and the Roundhouse fell into disuse by c.1860
