I've been really art blocked for a long time, mostly because I got super discouraged how social media has made art feel like a fast food media, especially with Twitter algorithm making it so that when u post art, you have to think really hard about time zones and even then it's--
Kinda gone in an instant.. Where are like every time i check my tumblr I see like 10 y old art still making rounds and even wilder, ppl still commenting on the art...!!! Where as now it's kinda I got maybe 1h window before the art is kinda gone and forgotten --
And this combined by when I realized graduation was soon and I didn't have a portfolio I was happy with really just made me think of my art as a commodity and "content" instead of art, so I lost all joy of drawing. --
I got so caught up in whether I was making "good content" or something that could help me get hired, and that I wasn't creating fast enough! And now I've been kinda working on just undoing this knot in my head and I have finally started having fun with art again!
But I really feel such a need for a social media platform that's better for art, with tagging and better gallery and less shitty algorithms...
I'll try to get back to posting art soon but much more casually I think
