when talking about fast fashion you should probably not sound so classist when doing it btw x
when i say some of us can not afford sustainable brands i mean it. knowing that people with lower income tend to cling on to items till they break and even then keep them to fix them it not like we are buying clothes and then throwing them out a month later
suggesting thrifting in the uk is honesty trash and personally people of all income should be able to feel nice in new ‘trendy’ clothing that is the fraction of the price
I don’t think it fair to narrow people down of all sizes, aesthetics and incomes to a few sustainable brands because it fits your environmental agenda. I’m sorry but the topic of fast fashion hasn’t been discussed fully and im waiting for someone to bring this us
I think it’s gross how you all demonise poor people about shopping at primark, shein and romwe when we live in a capitalist society ? everyone is trying to get by and you’re not helping
she says it a lot better than me
this tweet is making round and i just wanna say if there are grammar mistakes or weird wording im dyslexic im sorreh lol
i see a lot of people blaming influencers? which really defeats the point of holding corporations accountable for not being sustainable? if they are passionate with fashion i really don’t see harm in buying a lot of clothes esp if it’s upcycled or donated to charity shops
I’m personally a fashion fanatic and save my money to spend wildly on clothes that i keep for years. personally i cannot push the blame on influencers when they provide actually a way to feel nice on a budget? we need to remember that we all like new clothes and styles..
and these influencers obv don’t talk about things like this which is a problem but im also just speaking from a working class point of view when it actually just CORPORATE CRIMES that are massively ignored that keep the abuse in fast fashion going
capitalism is the problem! an unsustainable system! not the middle man the big man? do people understand that the poor also should be allowed to buy new clothes and dupes of expensive ones.
the manufacturing of these clothes are a huge problem but we are taking it up with the wrong people???
right so apparently people like im justifying child labour and im not haha. the manufacturing of fast fashion is disgusting and inhumane and i no way condone it. im just sick of you lot pointing the finger somewhere else other than the corporations.
there are many consequences of fast fashion and consumerism of it but im talking about bettering the conversation and stop demonising the working class to make these changes when it should be corporate
to clarify im not fully educated on fast fashion and i only speak from a sociological view!!
so this is now officially on mute cause the charity shop buyers are going at it lmao without considering that limitations of thrifting (eg deprivation of areas, fatphobia and inclusivity) keep the conversation going ill be reading them! 💓
right this thread is still going and if you have something to say that opposes my opinion consider that ive had a lot of nasty ones and one weird death threat. have a day off pls, your point has probably been said and ive probably read it! alright fuck sake man. U lot hound me.
