Gonna go on for a bit. only skimmed the guidelines so am sure I’ll miss plenty but even w/ that questions abound. Boils down to funding....for cleaning products, for more cleaning staff in the building longer, for additional teachers and SNAs...1 @NormaFoleyTD1 @josephamadigan
Semantics perhaps but representative of the disrespect they’ve been treated with, especially recently, but why does it start off repeatedly listing students/parents/teachers but not a peep about SNAs and other ancillary staff??? Words matter. 2
1,000+ students, in some schools, moving through corridors 10 times a day. Solutions beyond teachers do the moving cos in my own situation, science(labs) or any preztical subject that isn’t an option. Stagger movements? Easy to say but good luck not killing VSWare w/that. 12
“Practical” subject though a preztical one does sound intriguing

2b selfish for a Sec. How about my own context.18students in3ASD special classes coming and going between us & mainstream all day. Do I clean the entire place between every class? What about our sensory room? All the games? An endless list of shared materials? Powerhose yeah? 11
students should access learning spaces from outside. all our classrooms have doors outside. This mean all our students should enter the class through them&move from class 2 class the same way?Sorry but unless there’s 15 teachers outside w/ pointy sticks(joke)how does that work? 15
All talk of maintaining social distancing to begin with then throughout the doc acknowledges some of the instances where it won’t be possible (primary JI-2nd, working with some students with SEN) then basically acknowledges that it won’t be possible at all, which it won’t. 3
So we’re assuming by end of August that NPHET advice will no longer include social distancing? Cos if it’s a thing in society@large why wouldn’t it be a thing in schools?&how do you “maximise Social Distancing” in a class of 30+ students? Maybe a maths teacher could help me out?4
Students shouldn’t wear masks & neither should adults (be aware some students are adults) but everyone else outside of school in a crowded indoor space (you know, like a school) should definitely wear masks. Care to square that
cos I’m confused. Also teachers can’t crouch??? 9

No temperature taking to students entering the building? Ok but what about staff and visitors? You the ones, on current but changeable advice, that are far more likely to spread and/or be affected by Covid 19. Their welfare not a thing? 6
