Myth: Kapil Dev never bowled a no-ball in international career!

VIDEO: Kapil Dev's second ball in international cricket in Faisalabad (1978) was a front-foot no-ball

Reason for the myth: Till 1984, no-ball & wide-ball runs weren’t credited to the bowler.
A lot of organisations put up articles about bowlers who never bowled no-balls in international cricket. I never put out these videos but had to! Hopefully such articles will stop doing rounds. Since no-ball & wide-ball runs weren't credited to the bowler the no. is unknown!
Having said that Kapil Dev bowled very very few no-balls in international career. Post 1984 the number is about 18 but again it is unknown if all of them were front-foot no-balls or for height or any other reason! Scorers didn't specify the reason for a no-ball!
In his debut Test, Sadiq Mohammad came out wearing a hat. When Kapil Dev bowled a couple of bouncers, Sadiq called for a helmet. This was the 1st occasion when any opposition batsman wore a helmet when an Indian fast bowler bowled. Paaji was one of the finds for India on Pak tour.

Myth: Imran Khan never bowled a no-ball in international cricket!

Proof: Imran Khan bowled a no-ball in the final of the 1992 World Cup!
Found a video but won’t put it up. This was the first ball of the final over to Richard Illingworth. This was no ball for height!
