As far as known, 20 men and 34 women from #Belgium are held by #SDF. While the men would only raise the share of radicalized detainees in Belgian prisons to 1.9 percent (now 1.7), the women would bring it to 9.1 percent of all female inmates (now 2.1) (2/5)

That would be very challenging, according to researcher @tom_renard, since some of the women are still proselytizing and Belgium has no specialized prison wings for women like the ones in which the most ‘contagious’ radical men are kept apart (3/5)

Renard is still an advocate of repatriation though, defending it as the best option for legal, human rights and security reasons. Problem can be contained by not repatriating women all at once, he says (4/5)
