Really fuckin pisses me off that I stayed home like a mother fucker for the last 4 months, even with an extremely sick family member that I really want to spend time with right now, and we’re no better off now than we were then because enough people didn’t take this seriously.
We have a roadmap. We’ve seen so many other countries pull it off. Shelter in place, test, do contract tracing, re-open slowly when virus is under control. We FUCKIN KNOW THIS WORKS. But I share a country with millions who believe that God will protect them and masks = tyranny.
We have zero, and I truly mean zeeeeero, federal leadership on this issue. Congress is perpetually gridlocked and Trump, who is an actual moron, has no discernible plan to speak of. He has consistently refused to publicly wear a mask or follow the CDC guidelines. He’s a disgrace.
While we’re at it, Democratic leadership in Congress has failed us as well. How Schumer and Pelosi both aren’t having daily press conferences asking why Trump and McConnell refuse to discuss more stimulus spending is not only immoral, it’s a wasted political opportunity. A layup.
Of COURSE the federal government should be spending a shitload of money to keep Americans and their families afloat. How is the economy supposed to bounce back if half the country is broke and without a job? Where is the pressure to address food insecurity and evictions??!!
