The CDC has adopted “low standard” probable COVID case definitions and Texas DHS has just now agreed to these guidelines. Collin County discussed the new COVID policy in the video below. https://twitter.com/free_enthusiast/status/1277668396927266816
“The state of Texas DHS has informed the public health depts that they have adopted a revised definition for COVID-19 probable cases. This has the potential to be a very significant event for Texas as the state has now elected to adopt this new probable definition. (1/4)
This probable case definition was adopted by the council of state and territorial epidemiologist back in early April and sent it to the CDC, the CDC did take that recommendation, adopted it, and sent it to the various states for consideration (2/4)
& now the Texas DHS has adopted this def. & will be using it. If someone has 2 minor sympt. or 1 major sympt. that now qualifies. If you have a subjected (no temp. taken) fever & a headache, & you live in Texas, you now meet the qualification to be a probable COVID patient. (3/4)
It is remarkable how low the standard is now. I don’t think it can be over-stated how much this could be taken out of context and could be giving a false narrative to our citizens and to our community”. (4/4)
