what does it mean when we say a life "matters"? we mean that the existence of the person we're talking about is important, valued, and that person needs to be treated like they are important and valued
now when we say "black lives matter" (or anyone says any life matters), we are speaking to a group made up of wildly divergent moral characters--some are christians, some are not, some are very much like god, some are full of sin and hate

and yet even those sinful lives matter
when we say a life matters, we don't mean we approve of everything the life does, or the person is good

people don't matter because they're good; they matter because they're humans who have an eternal soul and have the chance to be good--we love even evil people
my point--on a christian view, black trans lives matter as well

are they in sin? yes

are they wrong? yes

but does their life not matter because of their sin? i think not
subsequently, i think the only palpable objection to saying it is strategic--the world will take "black trans lives matter" as "i approve of transgender people and their actions to themselves"
coda: if you're committed to saying black lives matter, you've already made the commitment to black trans lives matter, because all black trans people are black, and so if all black lives matter, black trans lives matter
