Trap albums are too commercialized for their own good. Having the same features and bloated tracklists has led to a major decline in quality. Trap artists sacrifice good music for streaming numbers. All the tracklists pictured are very similar.
20+ track albums with a 15 track deluxe 2 days later is more of a chore, the shorter trap albums from years ago are far better in both quality, and ability to be coherent. Take Rodeo and Without Warning, both are shorter, and better than any trap album to come out recently.
Rodeo also has far more interesting features and a more unique sound that anything as of late. Nowadays the goal is just money instead of producing quality art. A lot of trap artists today are tedious to listen to for more than a couple of songs imo.
Another reason it has declined is because of how much it dominates the market. Almost all of mainstream rap is trap, and that has led to an oversaturation of the art, and a significant decline in quality. Appreciate you reading if you read this far
