A federal judge REJECTS Alan Dershowitz's attempt to modify a protective order to obtain documents for his defense.

She also ORDERS his accuser Virginia Giuffre's attorneys to destroy records from her since-settled case against Ghislaine Maxwell.

At a recent telephone conference, Dershowitz asked the judge to modify the protective order in the first case to boost his defense in the second.

It also came out that his accuser's legal team already has most of the files that he wants.
Instead of giving both sides the documents, the judge gave neither.

"While the court rejects Mr. Dershowitz’s request to modify the Maxwell protective order, it will not in the same breath force him to litigate this action with one arm tied behind his back," her footnote reads.
Important context:

The documents in the Maxwell case are still a part of the ongoing unsealing fight.

On a quick read, this order appears to mean that unless and until those documents are unsealed, they won't come out in Giuffre's suit against Dershowitz.
To be absolutely clear, the records still exist. The judge just ruled that neither can have them for the purposes of this litigation.
