They wanted to see in action and learn how an autistic nonspeaker could learn to type and spell. Since, there has been a dramatic push from people like @trav_jason, @mattbrodhead and @jimtemu to bully and invalidate anything related to Soma, Tito, nonspeakers, RPM, S2C, etc.

You should see how they talk about autistic advocates behind closed doors. I mean, back to back, @trav_jason made fun of @kerima_cevik, brilliant author and mother to a Black nonspeaking son, and me, by calling Kerima "from the humanities department" and me a "blogger who blogs"

He called himself a "scientist who sciences." This is the ABA machine of white supremacy and ableism. James Todd @jimtemu brags that he posts our letters on his university door for people to laugh at, like they're a joke. Travers has conducted much research about race and autism

Yet when I brought up how he ruthlessly bullies nonspeaking autistic people of color, especially Tito Mukhopadhyay who WRITES WITH A PENCIL, he reported me on Twitter for claiming that I was going to commit suicide, effectively locking my account down during an appeal.

They have recycled the same arguments since Reagan was in office, with no scientific merit whatsoever, claiming the almighty power of PEER REVIEW. Let's talk about that for a minute, this thing that I call "bro skepticism." It's a particularly evil form of bigotry.

To only accept "evidence based, peer reviewed" criticism is to say to the autistic community, to all marginalized communities, "I only accept what can get through my heavy checkpoints of confirmation bias, white supremacy, and what reinforces my wallet."

And even when Stanford-graduated researchers published in Nature demonstrate autistic agency, they gather their troops like pack animals and deconstruct it with their faux science. They don't have to have anything right. They just have to have the numbers.

And, they're mostly white, mostly males, mostly people with multiple generations of academic privilege. But let's take this hot garbage from Spectrum. Let's look at the violent racism, ableism, xenophobia, and misogyny herein. Look at how they describe Soma Mukhopadhyay.

These assholes went and pulled Soma's-- a woman of color and an immigrant-- TAX RETURNS, then published her salary, trying to make it seem like Soma is some kind of crook. She has a graduate degree, years of pioneering this teaching method, and they published her price list.

This is nothing but a commercial for ABA, a rebranding of the same arguments that have been levied against those who are trying to do ANYTHING OTHER THAN ABA to help autistic people with complex communication barriers communicate. Here's what's really disturbing...

They bring up "evidence based" approaches like "Pivotal Response System," developed by Kogel, colleague and protege of Lovaas, who used slaps and electric shock to stop stimming and echolalia. This person is still at Stanford. He should be in prison.

But to publish someone's income and price list like the cost is unfair (let's look at what it costs for ABA torture in comparison, eh?) is a violence. That's not an unreasonable salary for a business owner who has to use that money to travel, to rent space, to grow.

But the overwhelming majority of AUTISTIC people hate ABA and support teaching methods like RPM and S2C. Spectrum is proliferating the colonization of multiply marginalized people, exploiting us without our input for their own financial security.

They don't hate Soma Mukhopadhyay because she's a fraud. They hate her BECAUSE SHE IS SUCCESSFUL. She is doing what they can't, and since she won't let them colonize her work, which they feel aggressively entitled to, they attack her and paint her as a crook.

They are nothing more than a hype man for ABA. Look who is big-upping their article and retweeting it first. This is disgusting. @Spectrum is violent, a hate publication, the "white moderate who is more devoted to 'order' than to justice; who prefers a negative peace (cont)

Spectrum and the ABA machine want a peer review monopoly on justice

They want to continue to declare themselves the arbiter of autism, a multi-trillion dollar industry wherein the primary stakeholders are repeatedly disallowed from participating.

You know what I saw in this article. Soma ignored the parents and went straight for the kid

Soma gave the child autonomy of choice. Some humanized children that have been literally subjected to beatings, aversive smells shoved up their nose, and electric shocks by the SAME PEOPLE who created the "evidence based" peer review in this article.

This is the system of oppression that allows for the restraint deaths and murders of autistic and BIPoC children at the hands of restraint. We're not buying the rhetoric anymore. You need to close up shop and donate 100% of your assets to autistic people @Spectrum.
