Short thread: Sorry to talk about this a 2nd day, but this is a new low and deeply offensive. Ethiopians, your gov't is your own biz. My interest is in the people and their history. But this rubbish... Let's break it down:
First, check out my previous threads on his tweets. Oh, but now Ethiopians are sending him private messages, asking Egypt to interfere. If you’ll “never do it,” why would you publicize this? Which in itself is clearly a tactic at destabilization.
Plus, with the very few exceptions of creep traitors like Gugsa in the Italian-Ethiopian War, can you imagine today ANY Ethiopian, whatever ethnic group, etc., preferring a FOREIGN power topple their gov't? In the vast history of Ethiopia, does this sound credible?
And just curious, WHY would separatists seek help in overthrowing the gov't of Ethiopia from THIS guy? He's an academic. Sure, he probably knows generals, but is he on their defence staff now? No. So I'd LOVE to know what incompetent rebels think he's their best contact. 🤣
This was one of his tweets yesterday. If you were under cyber-attack, wouldn't you find such "private messages" today then deeply suspicious? Wouldn't it strike a reasonable person as another ploy, presuming you were a target?

Unless, of course, you were making this crap up.
Here is why you should care: He is a "go-to" talking head for BBC, CNN and Radio France, which means they find him credible. Having worked in journalism plus been interviewed myself, I know how the process works.

Now imagine what BS he tells the world & the damage he can cause.
One more thing: It's really dumb to try to undermine the current regime, any current regime. If you succeed, you get chaos, which merely sets back the GERD negotiation process with new players, who may make new demands, change their minds, etc. So this is all counter-productive.
