Several years ago I had the opportunity to interview a documentarian who did films on social causes. I asked him how, with so many different causes out there, how can you decide who or what to support or not support?
His advice was to learn as much as you can about a company (or a person's) backstory and decide if you can live with it. Been thinking about that lately and it is really good advice, especially now with everything that has been going on in the country.
Everyone makes a personal choice, obviously, so if you are OK with a business discriminating against certain groups because you like their chicken sandwich or their podcasts, or a politician openly being racist, you might need to also be OK with getting some shit over it.
Seems like nothing will ever change until people stop rationalizing why it is OK to support hatred because you just want to ignore the negative and only take the "good parts."
