Fascinating to listen to @HettaHowes discuss the BL MS Egerton 1821 a compilation of devotional writings c.1421 which appear in a blood splattered manuscript.

Next @HettaHowes discussed the Psalter of Bonne de Luxembourg c.1349 - in which the wound in Christ’s side on the cross, appears unmistakably like a vulva - initiating a unique and early connection between women bodies and Christ body #ViolentFluids
The discussion of Medieval beliefs in women being excessively wet & the connection between wetness & divinity by @HettaHowes was particularly enlightening.

Women as 'leaky vessels' is something I explored in my own research when writing about the photographic history of women performing physical mediumship - exuding #ectoplasm, often gynecologically - in the work of Albert von Schrenck-Notzing #ViolentFluids
