sex work and pornography are not inherently bad or exploitative(thread):
1. i fully acknowledge that currently, it preys on young people, especially women to do things they wouldn't do if they weren't financially unstable.
2. however, saying its "bad" stigmatizes sex workers

3. If sex work is wrong because it commodifies human bodies, then menial labour such as construction is also wrong. In a classless, moneyless society, no one would be coerced into any form of labour. So I think sex work isn't inherently bad
4. By saying sex work is bad, we're upholding regressive Freudian views of the "madonna-wh*re" complex which theorizes that sexualised women will always be dehumanized.
5. Yes, porn can be addictive. But so can a lot of things. We need to acknowledge that addiction has less to do with the object of addiction and more to do with how monotonous our lives have become that we seek a serotonin rush from wherever possible.
6. I've seen a lot of well-meaning people say porn is a product of capitalism. Mass produced, exploitative porn is. But there's no evidence to suggest that no one would be willing to make porn in a moneyless society.
