People who self diagnose KNOW that they can't access official services without an official diagnosis, but self diagnosis at least brings them a community of some sorts to help where the official services won't. That's what's so cruel about anti-self diagnosis rhetoric.
You're all out here going 'BUT SELF DIAGNOSIS IS BAD BECAUSE THEN YOU CAN'T ACCESS SERVICES' when the reality is that when diagnosis is gatekept by a racist, sexist medical system, people who are failed by it turn to self diagnosis because community support is all they have.
All those things you're screaming about why self-diagnosis is bad? The lack of access to services?

That's WHY people self-diagnosis, you absolute liabilities, so that in the absence of services they at least have something that can support them.
All your screaming about self diagnosis being terrible because 'then how will you get access to services' is cruel because it rubs the nose of people failed by the system into shit that they already know, and then tries to gatekeep them out of the community support they DO have.
I'm furious because it's cruelty. Smug, self-important cruelty.

Step outside your own experience, for once, and allow space for others in this community.

I won't let you block the people who need it most from accessing our community.
To self-diagnosed people: the system is shit for having failed you, and we are absolutely here for whatever you need in its place.
And now, I commence the process of lying face down on my mattress and screaming into a pillow.
