Dr Ford is discussing the unwritten rules of academia that are specifically made for minoritized faculty that only come up when its time for tenure. She calls it WAASP @DiverseIssues

First up is Work ethic. We are espected to be in the office more, more visible to show that we are there and actually working.

Second is Accessibility. We are expected to have our doors open, to be on many committees, to have unfettered access to our time

Third is Approachability. We must always have a smile on our face. Don’t be intimidating

Fourth is Sociable. We have to attend all the potlucks and dinners and happy hours. Even if we are terrified or allergic to the hosts pets, us saying no has a ripple effect.

And lasting Professional. We are asked to conform to Eurocentric standard of dress, hair and spoken word.
