“Therefore, starting August 5, check ur registration on ur Secretary of State or county election websites. (Many URLS can get u there: http://Vote411.org  is a good place to start. Another is the US Vote Foundation, which has contact info 4 every local election official.“ 2/
“Engage directly with those who will be counting your vote.” 3/
“When u find ur name and address are correct take a screenshot & file it with time and date. (Google “How do I take a screenshot with my phone?”) Update any incorrect information. Only take the screenshot when it’s in order.” 4/
“If you don’t find yourself, re-register. Do this for voters who don’t have online access—starting with your family.” 5/
If u want to vote by mail, “SEPTEMBER is Order Your Mail Ballot month...A delayed application could get caught in a paperwork tsunami...If you don’t get a mail ballot you’ve requested, complications will ensue. Order that mail-in ballot as soon as ur registration is correct.” 6/
“Here’s the complication if you order a ballot but don’t receive it,” u will have to vote in person provisionally unless u can PROVE u didn’t receive it (in which case u can vote in person w/ a regular ballot).“ 7/
“Voting provisional is better than nothing. But these ballots are the last category of ballots to be processed and counted.” 8/
Proving u didn’t receive your mail ballot puts you at the mercy of poll workers. Ask them if they can communicate with the local election office by phone or tablet (e-pollbook). If so, they may be able to cancel your mail ballot and give you a regular ballot to vote in person. 9/
Most likely, however, voters who don’t receive their mail ballots on time or at all will have to vote provisionally. They should do that rather than not voting at all. 10/
OCTOBER: “Mail-in ballots get issued in October. Know when to expect yours. (See your state or county website.) If you don’t get your ballot, phone the elections office. Sometimes they can cancel the first one issued and send you another. Act early.” 11/
JSC: I recommend dropping off ur mail ballot in person, rather than using the mail. If you live in a county prone to long lines, consider dropping it off in person BEFORE Election Day at an early voting center or drop box. Check your county election office for options. 12/
“NOVEMBER is Last Chance Month: The Endgame. If you vote on Election Day, ... expect a line. Especially in a blue epicenter in a red state. If you didn’t get a mail ballot that you had requested, ... [m]aybe u can cancel ur ballot to avoid provisional, maybe not. But VOTE.” 13/
Note: This helpful article was written by @srose14, Mimi Kennedy, & Alan Minsky. I agree w/ it except perhaps the advice to request an absentee ballot just in case - even if u plan to vote in person & live in a blue county in a blue state w/ hand marked paper ballots... . 14/
... & no e-pollbooks. I worry this cld cause more complications & problems. I’m not sure though. Food for thought. 15/
