The @CWHM Lancaster took to the skies this morning for it’s first flight of 2020 from @flyyhm!
The @CWHM Mynarski Memorial Lancaster, also affectionately called “VeRA”, starts it’s engines!
Gotta make sure she’s warmed up! @CWHM’s Avro Lancaster “VeRA” does a few cycles of the throttle in preparation for flight!
Brakes released, and she’s on her way! @CWHM’s Avro Lancaster “VeRA” begins her taxi out to the runway at @flyyhm! Look at the nose art. For this flight, the Lancaster is sporting the Snowbirds’ 50th anniversary patch.
And takeoff! @CWHM’s Lancaster “VeRA” is airborne for the first time in 2020 from @flyyhm runway 06!
@CWHM’s Lancaster “VeRA” circles ove @flyyhm before going on to Niagara Falls and Toronto. This flight is in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the @CFSnowbirds and is also a tribute to Captain Jenn Casey who was tragically taken from us earlier this year.
