1. I have a theory about the recent blackface backlash: Liberals are scared that, instead of the public seeing conservative media as racist, they're going to finally understand that liberals, Hollywood and the Democratic Party are full of racism, too.

6. This is all an embarrassment to the Democratic Party and Hollywood, who like to wag their fingers at the crude right . The Golden Girls I will deal with in an essay; but let's think for a moment about Designing Women.

7. Designing Women has LOTS of racism going on. But as Pulitzer Prize winning playwright @TheLivingMJ reminded me recently, the shows creators Linda Bloodsworth-Thomason and Harry Thomason, were EXTREMELY close to the Clintons, going back to Arkansas.

8. Racist imagery in film & TV is not only the domain of conservatives nor aberrational to Democratic politics; it is inseparable FROM Democratic politics.

Thus, liberals are looking to purge and scrub, rather than to deal with the complexities of this heritage.
