Listening to a sermon from my former pastor about patriotism. I’m convinced that the IFB exists in a bubble of comfort padded with hysteria. IE: “we are so comfortable in our lifestyle, but just you wait, when these radicals do __________ our comfort will be lost.”

This hysteria keeps them “separated” from actually living the great commission because they see all others outside of their bubble of comfort as a threat.

So they live comfortable lives in their posh houses, they have a lot of close family coming in and out for dinners etc and maybe a few church members they allow in but everyone else is a threat and dangerous because of that hysteria that is the focus of so many of their sermons.
