In @KevinMKruse's tweet that broke down public assistance between whites and Blacks, he showed that whites seek assistance at a higher rate in all areas, except for public housing.
Here are the numbers he posted.
"Welfare recipients by race:
Food stamps (SNAP): 36.2% white, 25.6% black
WIC: 58.6% white, 20.7% black
Public housing: 32% white, 45% black
Medicaid: 40% white, 21% black"

It brings to clarity the reason the numbers are high for public housing -- systemic racism against home ownership for Black Americans. Every imaginable obstacle was put in their way. https://washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/janfeb-2013/a-house-divided-2/
Then, the country ended up electing a president, who along with his family, actively participated in keeping home ownership away from Black Americans and thereby, suppressing their chances for accumulation of generational wealth. https://www.publicbooks.org/the-big-picture-americas-real-estate-developer-in-chief/
Moving forward toward obtaining racial equity, our country must address and correct real estate inadequacies and eliminate racial injustices from home ownership.
