Personality politics is that boring leaders who boost a party's chance in poll ratings aren't nearly as interesting as figures who are very emotive but also very polarising. This seems like another political-cultural import from America.
A lot of people simply don't have interest in Keir Starmer's decision to be very patient and careful as Labour leader. There's no spice or heat in that sort of politics. It's harder to get drawn to such a leader as they were to Corbyn. And that's really very understandable
But Labour isn't a social movement. It's a political party designed to win elections, and right now it's lost four in a row. We've lost all right to think we should simply continue as we are. Starmer represents a drastic break away from his predecessor in that respect
