Reading all these stories made me remember how I transfered all my NYSC Allawee savings to the bank account of this Lagos babe I was dating at that time in Edo State, few days before POP.

Looking back, that was a very stupid decision to make. Mumu me.......

Short Thread.
So we started dating few months to the end of our NYSC programme. Before then I had scrimped and saved all I earned and by that time I had a good amount to state a little business when I return to Lagos.

That was my plan if a good job refuses to surface.
So it was time to return to Lagos after POP and all of us were given the option to either maintain our bank accounts or withdraw our monies (At that time it was difficult to access your money from another bank branch except you come to Edo state)

What???
The decision was easy for others but not for me. Those that had other account in Lagos just transferred their monies. Easy peasy.

My case was different. I had no bank account except the one opened because of NYSC and I also could not risk carrying cash.

Owo ti mo ji ya fun.
I am talking about 50k. This was big money in 2007. How much were we paid as Allawee? I think N7, 500.

So that informed why I could not take the risk. How will I tell anyone that my year-long savings was stolen at gunpoint on my way to Lagos.

So, what did I do?
Remember I was dating this Lag babe who already had a bank account in Lagos.

So If I'm dating this babe and we are cool like that, it won't be out of place to transfer my money into her account and I'll have it back when we get to Lagos.

At least, that is what lovers do. đŸ€·
I gave an instruction for the funds to be transferred to her account and we left Edo for Lagos.

For weeks, I didn't talk about it because there was no need for the money.

But when I eventually opened an account in Lagos, she transferred my money back to me.

That was a sign..
Looking back now, I think it was a risk too heavy to take. I was so stupidly in love at that time. I didn''t even care if she ran away with my life-savings as it were.

That was a very foolish decision sha o.

But the upside is, that Lagos babe is my wife today. 😁😁😁😁

End.
