Get yourself informed about AFSPA. Our army is the world's largest Volunteer Army meaning civillians are not mandated to serve in the army by law. So to say, they volunteer for the service to protect our sovereignty often under harsh geographic conditions.

Like the Galwan Valley situation RN and we need to respect them for that however AFSPA grants immunity to army personnel against persecution for their actions in disturbed areas.

The idea is that in volatile areas like JnK and NE (Punjab in the past) an army personnel might cause "Collateral damage" to civillians while fighting insurgents and should be granted immunity for that.

But this immunity is often misused and multiple instances of Human Rights abuses including torture and sexual abuse on civillians are reported by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, US Wikileaks

This is criticism of AFSPA so I will avoid examples from JnK. Here is Irom Sharmila also known as 'Iron Lady' she spent 16 years of her adult life fasting to protest against AFSPA. She was jailed multiple times during her fast where she was forced to break it.
