So in late 2012/early 2013 I was hearing rumblings about some artist 1da came across and Aubrey having interest in. Some 17, 18-year-old yute from Sauga that does it ALL. No one really knew his name but apparently he was going by PARTY.
At the time I was writing for Miss Info’s site @MissInfoTV under the alias Mr. North. I had some free time one afternoon and went to check a friend, a well-known producer at his studio (I’ll keep his name just to be safe).
On my way to checking him I ran into @ILLIONAIRE and I remember the convo leading into who is this Sauga yute Aubrey is checking but keeping under wraps.
Anyways, I get to my homie’s studio downtown he was doing an interview with another publication so I just hung out and observed until he was done. When it was over we were catching up and I asked him if he knew about some artist named PARTY.
Right when I said his name he smiled and started laughing. And that’s when he gave me the background on dude. My homie was also cool with PARTY’s then manager at the time.
That lead right into my homie pulling up a bunch of records from this guy and I was immediately blown away. So much so I remember tweeting on here something like ”I think I just heard music from the next Toronto superstar” or some shit. It’s still in my history if I dig.
LITERALLY not even 10 mins after that tweet I get a 
text asking who I’m taking about. When I mention PARTY, dude tells me yeah we’re about to sign him. He asked who was playing me these records but I couldn’t do that lol.

Fast forward a few months later....”Make a Mil,” and “Wus Good/Curious” come out. When the 1st song dropped I reference my tweet months early about the new star I heard.
Now it’s April 2013. I randomly decide to go to NYC to celebrate a friend’s birthday over there and hangout for a week. The Jordan Brand Classic was also that weekend and Aubrey was a performer. I go to the game and then later that night I head over to that friend’s bday party.
The next day I’m running around, tagging along with @theesmd and catching up with the homie and we all end up at a bowling alley on the UWS or Midtown West that Aubrey shit down for a private bowling night.
Aside from hearing most of ‘NWTS’, whoever was controlling the music played “No New Friends” which Flex was going to premiere a few days, Tity Boi “I Do It,” and then some random ask music we were stumped on.
When we really took in the music and noticed “Make a Mil” and “Wus Good” we realized it was PARTY’s project. Was also the first time hearing “Over Here” which is one of Aubrey’s best verses period.
The main takeaway from the night was Aubrey playing that project on repeat. At one point two-stepping around the bowling alley smiling hard. You could tell from his energy dude was super excited for the project to drop, especially after the Abel mess.
Anyways 2 months later “Over Here” comes out. And then 10 days later PND1. The world is introduced to Px and he’s outta here.
