Oooof! The 2017 USGS pesticide use data came out recently and it's not good. Just look at what happened the first year dicamba was approved on GE crops

USGS makes high-end and low-end estimates. These graphs are made with the low-end estimates and likely underestimate use
Parquat use is still skyrocketing in the U.S. despite being banned in much of the world
2,4-D is set to explode here in 2019/2020, but is already inching up
Other herbicides, like glyphosate and atrazine, are staying steady, indicating that they are not being replaced. Rather, herbicides are being combined - increasing the total pesticide load in the environment

Very worrisome, as we are moving in the wrong direction
This is absolute insanity and could only happen in a country whose regulatory system is completely broken.

It's hard to overstate how regressive this is when, in 2020, we are still allowing this massive increase in pesticide load in the environment
