How about instead of calling for Canada Day to be cancelled because of how the Indigenous Communities have been treated over the years.

We celebrate their cultures more and include them more in our celebration and recognition of this great and amazing country we all call home?
You can literally find a reason to cancel every single thing in this world. But cancelling doesn't solve the problem.

We need to examine what the problems are and fix them.

Eventually you'll run out of things to cancel...then what?
And yes our country isn't perfect. Our governments have done and do a lot heinous things.

But we're lucky to live in a country where we can make changes and fight for change. There's a lot of places in this world where the citizens are oppressed and get killed for speaking out.
Canadians have a stereotype of being kind and generous and forgiving people. So instead of trying to cancel our nation's "Birthday". Maybe do something about the issues you want to cancel it for.
Get out and vote. Support local and indigenous people, communities and initiatives.

Contact your local First Nations leaders and ask if you can come and learn more about their cultures and histories.
