Polyamory and open relationships are two different things. Pass this on.
Open relationships are usually monogamous relationships where a primary couple is “open” to sexual contact with other people. Either together, or separate.
Polyamory is a relationship style that allows people to have multiple sexual and/or romantic relationships simultaneously, ideally with the knowledge and consent of all involved in or affected by the relationships. It’s usually multiple fully committed relationships.
Swinging is a consensual non-monogamy where singles & couples in a committed relationship can explore sexual activities with others privately or socially. They are usually open relationship sexually, but do not emotionally or romantically.
polygamy—a form of marriage consisting of more than two persons.
polygyny—a marriage of one husband and multiple wives, who are each sexually exclusive with the husband.
Polyandry—a marriage of one wife to multiple husbands.
polygyny—a marriage of one husband and multiple wives, who are each sexually exclusive with the husband.
Polyandry—a marriage of one wife to multiple husbands.
Back to polyamory: it’s usually non hierarchical relationships. But some people to the hierarchical route. It can be a group or throuple or just separate commitments. But it is committed to the fullest lol
