Happy July!
What’s your growth goal for the month?
Say you wanted to gain 1K new followers on Instagram this month, (organically).
That breaks down to 32 new followers per day.
Now, imagine as you are posting regularly (once a day at least) that you are losing followers

That breaks down to 32 new followers per day.
Now, imagine as you are posting regularly (once a day at least) that you are losing followers
as well.
We can say you lose about 5-10 per day.
So by the end of the month you’ve:
Gained 1K
Lost 310
Net: 690
That’s not 1K, is it?
Okay, so now you have to up your daily/weekly goal.
Let’s bump that up to 1400 new followers (for a little cushion).

What content do you get the majority of new followers from? Post more of that.
What hashtags perform the best? (Use it more often, but not every time).
What content is saved & shared the most? Post more of that.

Really focus on what your current following & potential followers are telling you based on what they’re engaging with.
Now, methods.

Now, methods.
What methods have you tried in the past (that’s organic)?
Which did you see the highest rate of growth?
If you’re going to do the $1.80 or the 3:1 method, then you have to assume you’ll have a low follow back rate (aim for 5-10%).

Your goal is to gain at least 30% of your following from those methods.
To do that, you plan to gain 13 new followers per day through those methods.
If you have lower FB rates (like 5% or less), then you have to engage with more accounts to reach your goal.

So, 13 new followers per day with a 5% FB Rate equals 275 accounts per day.
You want to avoid action blocks, so you’ll have to space that out.

If you want to be active 2 hours in the AM, 1 hour in the afternoon, & 2 hours in the evening, that’s 55 accounts to engage with, every hour, for 5 hours/day.
Seems drastic, right?
That’s why the $1.80 method shouldn’t be a blanket method to grow your following.

I call it a high effort, low results method.
But, for the sake of this example, let’s say you have this as your plan. I mean, you’re probably going to spend that much time on Instagram anyway, right?

ATP, you have 403 new followers from those 2 methods, & you’ll have reached 28% of your follower goal.
What methods will account for the remaining 72%?

As for me, I would probably focus on hashtag growth (40% growth), a few Instagram account takeovers (20% growth), bank on some feature page reposts (12% growth) to reach my goal.
All 3 involve strategy along with the $1.80 & 3:1 method.

You have to discover early on what helps you grow organically. I’ve picked these methods for my personal Instagram, because that’s where I’ve seen the growth come from.
When I’m growing other creators, influencers, & businesses, I have to think strategically about how they grow
When I’m growing other creators, influencers, & businesses, I have to think strategically about how they grow
because it won’t be the same for everyone.
So, if you’ve worked with me 1:1, read my textbook, or taken any of my courses, then you know that I discuss all methods. However, I care more about STRATEGY.
I have seen people drastically grow without having a strategy.

It’s mostly because they’ve found that special spot in their content, hashtags, etc. that they can take & run with. It makes growth less grueling work.
But, everyone isn’t like that.
So, audit your account & build your strategy so you can reach your goal this month.
