This week marks 100 days since the start of #lockdown.

Yes, that’s right – even though March feels like 40 years ago, we have done the maths and it IS only 100 days.

So much has happened in Doncaster in that time, so we thought we’d have a look back ⬇️
Community Hubs were set up in mid-March to help anyone who needed support, and since 23rd March they’ve been contacted over 20,000 times!
(That’s a LOT of reassuring chats)
The staff at the Hubs have been absolutely amazing – to date, they’ve delivered 2,849 food parcels to vulnerable residents, and picked up medical prescriptions for people 3,251 times.
The community spirit we’ve seen has been so incredible too – local charities have been dropping off care packages for older people, zoom quizzes have swept the town and there’s even been virtual dance classes! https://twitter.com/_bfriend/status/1277525210988777477
We also supported vulnerable children to learn from home with schools suddenly closed.

573 devices were delivered to 75 schools around Doncaster in just 3 days to make sure everyone could do their school work at home!
We processed a total of almost £54 million in funding to provide financial support to thousands of local businesses.
Our Street Scene team have coped with new ways of working, new restrictions and physical distancing to keep vital services running the whole time!
(And the bin collectors became heroes!) https://twitter.com/MyDoncaster/status/1273912860029181952
And, while all this was going on, we’ve enjoyed spreading some historical facts to you on social media!

Due to your lovely likes, replies and retweets, we’ve reached over 50m people in the last 100 days, so thank you! https://twitter.com/i/moments/1278306259125616640
So, what a busy 100 days it’s been.

As proud as we are of the work that’s been done to support local people, we don’t want another 100 days of lockdown anytime soon, thanks.
Lockdown may be easing that bit more over the weekend, but we’re not getting too carried away.

We might go and enjoy our first meal out in 100 days (or even our first trip to the pub) but let’s all still keep washing our hands, keeping our distance and staying safe.
