2/ @Channel4News investigation into PPE was damning:
- 50% of our stockpile was expired
- while other countries used expired PPE, the stock was rigorously tested. crucially, countries such as USA released data on how expired PPE was tested.

3/ our govt told us that the expired stock had been tested. unlike other countries, UK has never disclosed ANY evidence to say that expired stock has been tested or that it is safe to use.
we've literally just gone on their word.

4/ here's the @Channel4News investigation - without this, we wouldn't have a clue just how badly our politicians like @MattHancock have lied to us.
5/ from march - at every step of the way, we were told that the expiry dates didn't matter, even if they were last checked eight(!) years ago.-
6/ now, doctors have been sent a message - actually, y'know what, turns out the expired masks were pretty much all defective.
they might protect you from the virus, but the foam bits might degrade, and you might accidentally inhale them.
