So this is my COVID arrival experience to Hong Kong:
I took a flight from ATL-Seoul-Hong Kong. From Seoul, there was 2 forms I was given to fill out. Immigration and health form.
When I landed, we went to a table to scan a QR code to fill out that same health form but online.

The online health form spits out a QR code when completed.
Then if you hadn't done so you scan another QR code to download the quarantine app that will be linked to your quarantine wristband & must be running the whole time during your 2 week quarantine.

They check to see if you have the 2 things completed then you go to multiple tables to verify your phone number during quarantine (by calling it), giving you your quarantine wrist band & explain how to link it to the app & the rules. Then I was given a packet to store everything.
(note the order of that happened at the tables might be out of order because it all happened so fast it was a blur)
Then lastly, I was given an empty lanyard and explained everything that's going to happen & what will happen during quarantine.

He mentioned that I would be taking my temperature twice a day every day during my quarantine. I mentioned I did not have a thermometer since I am at a hotel, and I was given one to keep.
Next I went to normal immigration, then baggage claim.
Next I went to normal immigration, then baggage claim.
Then we went and got on a bus to go to the World expo convention center. When we arrived at the convention center, we Left our luggage in one area and we're given a ticket to claim it when we come back, then got back on the bus and was driven around the other side of the building
On the other side we had to show our documents and was given the supplies to self conduct the coronavirus test. We were given a vial where we would spit in it using the spit from the back of our throat. Kind of like hawking a loogie. The whole thing was a big process.
After that we return the sample to one of the officials and was then directed to the other side of the building. We were offered a sandwich and water and we were to fill out a form for where we would be quarantined.
After we turned in that form, we were told to sit in a designated seat and wait for our number to be called. At this time they were assigning us our room for the night because our flight arrived so late. Otherwise we would be waiting hours for the test results before we left.
So after a very long time of waiting, we were told What room we would be in for the night while we wait for the test results to come back the next morning. Next we got our luggage back using the ticket we were given when we turn them in and then got on the bus to the hotel.
At the hotel, we had to turn in some forms & we were given our room key. The room key only worked once so if you left & try to go back in it would not work. We were given a dinner and tea and a juice box and was directed to the elevator to go to our room. A photo of my free room.
That dinner consisted of some vegetable, rice, and chicken in a tomato sauce. It was not bad at all.
The next morning we were provided breakfast at 9:00 a.m. left outside our door. It was some pastry, croissant, apple, and a mango juice box.

Then we waited in our rooms for them to call us between 11:00 and 3:00 p.m. to give us the all clear or if we were not clear, we would go to the hospital. After you were given the call, you go downstairs return Your room key, lanyard with number on it, and more forms.
You then go to a table where they make sure the place you are going to be quarantined is accurate to what they have. And after that you are free to go straight to your place of quarantine. you can go anyway you like including public transportation.
If you are quarantined in a hotel like me, you have to show one of the forms you are given to the hotel. You cannot leave so you have to Uber eats all meals where they leave the food at the front desk and hotel workers bring it up to your door.
So when you arrive at your quarantine location, you start up the quarantine app and are given one minute to walk around your quarantine location to map out the constraints. After that, if you pass those boundaries, you can be fined and imprisoned to up to 6 months.
Then every day in the morning and night you are to take your temperature and record it in a booklet. Oh, I forgot when you leave the expo you are given another self-administered test because you are supposed to do another COVID test about a week and a half into your quarantine.
You then have to a friend or family member send the test back or you hire a company where they have three to choose from to return it back for you for a fee.
These are photos explaining the quarantine app you are to download and link to your quarantine bracelet.
This is the packet you are supposed to read when you get to your 2 week quarantine location which also has a table for you to enter your temperatures twice a day every day during the quarantine.
And here are photos of the quarantine bracelet. It is Nice and light but I am still not used to wearing it because I keep thinking I have a watch on even though I took my watch off. It is also annoying how they did not cut off the excess piece hanging off.
Also, seems like earlier this morning, some time after 9:30 this morning, the quarantine app gave me a notification to scan my quarantine bracelet so I'm not sure how often that will happen.
