Today is IP day. For mappers, the other 364 are -
"Thank heavens that Wardley didn't try to own mapping through IP otherwise no-one would be mapping and there wouldn't have been billions saved, lives saved and millions made" day
Now extend to Internet, Open Source etc. -> https://twitter.com/JoStevensLabour/status/1278266271688204288

Oh, to spell it out ... if there weren't people sticking two fingers up at the the traditional IP world and taking an open path ... there would be no internet, world wide web, amazon, facebook, google, netflix, tesla, spaceX, macosx, smart phones, uber i.e. no cool stuff at all.
... without an open path, I wouldn't be tweeting at you. I would be at home using my Amstrad to write emails on a floppy which I'd send to the office via post whilst cursing my lack of stamps that I would have to buy from the shop therefore missing repeats of Bergerac on BBC.
So, I know it's IPDay but just imagine if there was no IP at all, how much more advanced our nation and society would be?
I know, it would be awful for rent extractors and those going on and on about being rewarded for coming up with the idea of cornflower blue for a button.

One day, not now, but some wonderful day in the future we will finally get rid of all this IP nonsense that holds us back as nations.
X : No IP at all?
Me : Only for the significant.
X : Define?
Me : More significant than the world wide web.
X : How can we know that?
Me : We can guess. You can have 25 years IP protection for
a) cure for cancer
b) working teleportation
c) faster than light travel

... IP should be reserved for those ground breaking, earth shattering, gob smacking moments ... the ones that everyone goes "wow".
Actually, we should have a "meh" test. The idea is presented to 100 people, if one or more go "meh" then no IP.
