Two hours after the march is due to begin, protesters are finally able to occupy Hennessy Road in CWB. Police officers however stood under the bridge with their weapons ready.
The crowd erupted in cheers earlier when a banner, which celebrates the imposition of the national security law, was pulled down from the bridge.
A year later, protesters still remember the rules, shouting “one, two, one, two” as they flee from police to prevent a stampede.
It may be brief, but after hours of moseying around the streets, protesters retook Hennessy Road to make a statement that is loud and clear: they do not fear the national security law.
Riot police fired pepper balls at protesters and passersby. A father argued with a officer, who also lost control emotionally, after the pepper balls landed near his baby. The baby and the mother were heard crying as they took shelter in a building’s lobby.

Riot police fired multiple rounds of pepper balls along Percival Street, after some protesters shouted insults. Some officers have to be restrained by their colleagues as they retreated.
In what’s once a familiar scene in the protests last year, protesters dug up bricks on the pavement and stacked them along the road to build a road block.
A man searched on Russell Street. The visually impaired lawyer Joy Luk was also briefly detained.
More people detained and searched for no reason other than being on the street of Causeway Bay. Officers are mostly targeting young men.
Police have blocked off Times Square to conduct stop and search. Leaflets doxxing officers are scattered around the atrium of the luxury mall in Causeway Bay.
With nowhere else to tie their cordon, police have hung it on toy horses decorating the atrium of Times Square.
Sha Tin district councilor Li Chi-Wang is detained by police officers in Times Square. At one point, they snatched his phone from his hand to prevent him from filming. “Is it now illegal to speak when arrested?” He asked.
Among eight ( six male and two female) detained in Times Square is a young teen.
