I also advise against Imran Hossein books. The man is Alex Jones when it comes to Islamic stuff. He is an Assadist & Russian bootlicker, a takfiri (made takfir of all rebels against Gaddafi & Assad). He is a complete weirdo when interpreting texts about prophecies. Red Flag

Don't read anything by Qadiyanis/Ahmadis the followers of a false messiah, a false prophet. They are disbelievers according to the consensus of all Muslims. Do not fall for their b.s slogan "love for all, hate for none" (which is a lie anyway). They are a different religion.

Ignore the deception of Shias who will trap you with emotions using fake, fabricated, exaggerated stories regarding Ali, Fatima, Hasan, and Hussain (may Allah's blessings be upon them all). You will not gain much from their books. The balanced narrative is with Ahlus Sunnah.

Read these books instead. Better for New Muslims and none of the nonsense polemics.
Just general intro, preservation of Quran, Good character/morals, and the status of Muhammad ﷺ etc.

For some decent history reading try English selections from ibn Kathir's al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah
