you can appreciate hamilton and the work it has done to promote poc voices on broadway while also recognizing that it is not an accurate portrayal of history and that our founding fathers were not good people.
the point of hamilton is not to romanticize the stories of the founding fathers but rather to acknowledge the fact that many of the themes of the white washed history we know are actually applicable to poc.
obviously not the exact same capacity but many of these themes of love, freedom, infedelity, etc. know no bounds of race, religion, gender, or sexuality.
is it perfect? no. but all of these truths can coexist. also hating popular things doesn’t make you cool. you can dislike something without having to justify it with some elaborate reason why everyone should also dislike it as much as you.
anyways I love hamilton and I can’t wait to watch it on disney+ because I deserve the serotonin that comes with finally watching the original broadway cast in 1080p.
