I’m hearing that the NYPD budget vote has been pushed back until 8pm due to disagreements
Protesters have taken to the streets and formed a barricade of sorts in anticipation of the 8pm NYPD budget vote
More and more people are quickly arriving. The man with the megaphone is saying to “go the fuck home” if those who have promised to stand against police at the front lines are afraid.
“I wanna put my foot on his fucking neck like he do us. I wanna put my foot on his back like he do us. I wanna hang him from a fucking tree like he do us.”

This was directed at the cops.
A guy just yelled for more people to help with forming a human barricade.

“White people first!” he added.
A woman used a broom to paint two NYPD cameras red & was met with a round of applause.
CURRENTLY: Protesters are ripping down construction materials and building barriers.

Looks like they’re trying to block off multiple streets
Here are some protesters dragging the materials to other areas:
More and more protesters are inching up towards a small line of officers
Another blockade, this one in front of the small line of officers (there are more officers down the tunnel past a police barrier).

They had many people leave and go behind the blockade, but are keeping two lines directly in front of the cops:
Police officers in this area just changed shifts. You can see the visible frustration from some of them here:
Yet another barricade being made — this one out of newspaper stands. An NYPD police barrier was also added for reinforcement
Things have calmed down substantially from a few hours ago. Less people but they’re still out here in the streets.

We’re going to regroup but will be back out in just a few hours to check on the situation/see if police will push them back into the park again.
Just after 5am here in NY. Protesters have largely moved into the park and have barricaded themselves inside — barriers are still in place blocking the roads with some people protecting those
Protesters have linked arms and organizers are trying to get everyone ready for a possible stand-off with police.

Currently not seeing officers actively moving into the area. Reminder, though: barricades are still in the road and blocking streets.
Organizers are holding various demonstrations and giving protesters instructions on how to act/what to do if police arrive.

Here, one woman shows the group how to properly fall to the ground and not hit your head
An organizer just warned the crowd that police “have cops in riot gear coming down Broadway.”

Can’t confirm, but protesters are now performing practice drills in preparation.
Police officers have arrived en mass
More and more have arrived at Occupy City Hall and are taking back the barriers that protesters made for the encampment
Incredibly tense as protesters and cops stand off just around 6 this morning in NY. Fights are ensuing on the ground ... I’m on top of a bus.
There are hardly any barriers remaining cutting off the Occupy City Hall area. Cops and protesters are now standing off.
Huge standoff out here right now. Unclear if officers plan to remove protesters from the park, or what the plan is from here after removing most of the barricades
