Attention #cdnhist educators: Charles Hou has assembled an incredible collection of 100s of chronologically organized political cartoons & photos about the history of #racism in #Canada.

Great resource to teach #historicalthinking
Specifically this resource is wonderful for using #evidence, #continuityandchange, & #historicalperspective to teach about the history of racism in #Canada and make powerful connections to the present.
It only takes a quick scroll through the 100s of images to identify continuities in #Canadianracism:

1) Centuries of #systemicracism experienced by BIPOC communities & other racialized groups in all aspects of life (e.g. immigration, voting, housing, employment, etc..)
2) The lazy claim that "everyone was racist at the time" is patently untrue & there are numerous examples of resistance and opposition to racist policies and actions by BIPOC people and allies.
3) The hypocritical myth of Canadian moral exceptionalism (Canadian racism isn't as bad as American racism).
4) The persistence of racist hate groups in #cdnhist
5) Opposition to racism and visions of an anti-racist Canada.
