My advice for making money on $alts that I'd like to share with you all, based on my own painful mistakes...

1. Don't go "all in," or be in anyone's "army." Married community members are poor and emotionally attached. You make bad decisions when emotional. So spread your bets.
2. Everything pumps in an alt season. Scams pump even harder. If it's got a lot of FUD, and ESPECIALLY if it's hated by Bitcoin maximalists (see $ETH, $HEX, etc) then wait for a good entry and buy it.
3. Excited you sold on a double? Unless you're compounding gains, you're a pussy. Everything goes a minimum 10x at some point vs BTC from the bottom. Bottom /= your entry, so pay attention. With that said...
4. Alt did a 10x? Sell that shit for BTC (now perhaps ETH too). The point to increase your BTC holdings, not to become an shitcoin maximalist. BTC is more antifragile than your favorite startup. If this is too hard, keep 20-30% as a mars bag. ETH and STRAT did a 70x so...
5. Q4 2015-2016 was the time to buy virgin alts. $ETH, $XMR, $FCT, etc all pumped in 2016. Some alts ( $LTC, $XRP) kept bleeding until BTC broke ATH in 2017. Old coins = old news ( $ZEC, $REP, etc). It's 2016 again if you haven't noticed yet.
6. Don't fight the narrative! I think #defi is a pile of dog shit for...reasons. I could be wrong. But do other people think it's valuable? Hell yes. If you've been following my entries I'm already up almost 100% this month on defi plays.
7. Don't be the guy buying someone else's 5-10x. Don't chase the pumps, don't listen to FOMO twitter. If you missed it, oh well. Look for beautiful entries like this, pull the trigger and wait.
8. #altseason is not the time to learn to day trade. Set your sell orders and leave it alone unless you're flipping serious size. Most are better off buying/holding until targets are reached. Set aside a small % and trade BTC futures you're willing to lose.
9. Some folks on CT with large followings aren't what they seem. It's cliche but Do Your Own Research = be confident in making decisions for yourself. Don't buy coins that are trending, buy the ones nobody is talking about.
10. Staking is lucrative on the way up and a scam on the way down. But if you're hodling, might as well stake it. Just don't name it or you won't be able to kill it.
11. Find an edge. Find it before they do. If you're not checking Bitcointalk or Ico Drops every week, you're buying from someone who did.
12. Follow your curiosity. Participate in the early stages of a project, join the slack, help with beta testing. Sometimes you can get rewarded in their native token or insider information. Otherwise it's just fun.
13. If it's Russian, Eastern European, Brazilian, Scandinavian, do. not. buy. that. shit. If it's Chinese, Korean, German, American, or anon, it's probably fine.
14. There was a pre-sale. Find out what the price was. If no one will tell you, don't. buy. it. If the coin was recently listed, don't. buy. it. If the pre-sale investors are rekt, buy it son.
15. They are becoming rare, but new and fairly launched PoW coins will always have the best upside potential. And they're just more fun.
