We should never stop believing in kindness of people.

It was Christmas Eve 2016 & I was on a solo trip to Rishikesh. The weather was mesmerising, it was raining and Maa Ganga Arti was going around in the nearby temple. I had taken a room in a Guest House near Laxman Jhula
the place where I always stay. It has beautiful vibes with a big terrace and a big verandah & plants on every floor and no tv in any room as the owner is of the view that he doesn’t want to disturb the foreigners who stay there for months and do yoga & meditation there.
It was around 7 p.m, I was in my room,the rain had just stopped. I felt like sipping a cup of tea & went outside to have one. There’s my favt caffe there where I always go. It has a bohemian ambience where u can sit with blankets & listen to Bob Marley songs playing all day long.

I was enjoying my tea and saw this girl doing somemeditation Kriya. As soon as she finished, she came to me & greeted me with Namaste with folded hands. I also greeted her the same way. We talked for few minutes, She was from Spain & was a certified yoga & meditation teacher.
I also told her abt my frequent trips to mountains & my experiences, she got so amused.

By that time, the clock strikes at 8, I had to leave as it was getting dark outside & I was all alone. She asked me if she could accompany me to my place so that I don’t feel alone.
At first I was bit skeptical as I had that Dil Chahta Hai moment in my mind where a foreigner looted Saif. But I ignored all such thoughts and nodded with a smile. She along with her friend started walking with me and it was such a wonderful time interacting with them
We had samose on our way.

My place arrived and I said Thanks to her, she hugged me & said ‘Tum bohot pyaari ho Megha’🙈, I also reciprocated the same. We exchanged contacts. It’s been 4 years and we’re still in touch. That was one of the nicest moments I had in mountains.
Also the picture used above, she had duly consented for it to use in my blogs or write ups. She herself got this clicked for an article.
We should never stop believing in the kindness of people no matter how many bad people we meet in our lives. There’ll always be good people😊
