How to work from home like a pro 😎 and not lose your mind in the process 💪

This is a thread 🧵👇

(add your own tips in the replies for others to see)
1. Have a dedicated working space 🖥

- You need a space that is only yours and only to work
- When you get to that place, you work
- When you leave it, you're off the clock
- Avoid working in places that are also used for other tasks (e.g. living room)
2. Make your working place comfortable ☀️

- Have no clutter
- If possible, it should have enough natural light
- Decorate with stuff that sparks you joy
- If possible, have great equipment (chair, desk, screen, etc.)
3. Create boundaries with people around you 🚦

- Have a sit-down with people who live with you to establish ground rules
- Make them understand that you are REALLY working
- Make them understand that if you get distracted, it makes your work so much harder
4. Dress as if you were going to the office 👔

- Shower and get dressed before working
- Avoid working in pajamas or sweat pants
- Try to dress as if you were going to the office
- If in your office, you usually wear a tie, that's not necessary to do at home though
5. Maintain regular work hours ⏰

- Establish hours you are going to work (maybe 9-5)
- Stick to those times as much as possible
- Avoid responding to Slack messages after your schedule
- Be flexible if absolutely necessary
6. Schedule your breaks ☕️

- Schedule breaks
- Stick with your break schedule
- Give the Pomodoro technique a try if you have a hard time making up or sticking to a schedule
7. Create a morning- and after-work routine 📄

- Have a routine you execute ALWAYS before and after work
- Examples before: Make coffee, clean glasses
- Examples after: Listen to a podcast, walk the dog
- It doesn't need to be an elaborate routine
