Sadly, I am now resigned to the fact that relegation is almost certain.

We've had our chance to pull away from the drop zone and blown it twice within the last few days. I would be incredibly surprised if we were still in the Premier League next season... (2/8)

What's worse is that the majority of the squad looked uninterested. A lot of them know that if we drop down they will get a move elsewhere; it won't be their problem any more. Throw in Gray's birthday antics, you have to question whether some actually care... (3/8)

VAR hasn't helped; with 5 points dropped thanks to missed handball decisions vs. Newcastle, Spurs and Southampton. But the 8 points dropped from winning positions vs. Villa, Everton and Brighton earlier this year now look even more damaging... (4/8)

Which leads me on to recruitment.

Our defence has been severely neglected for the past few seasons and it shows. We have no 'stand out' defenders, not one who you would say is guaranteed to start every week... (5/8)

Whilst the club have invested in our front line, some signings have not worked for one reason or another.

This has led to an over reliance on Troy for goals and a tactical approach that is anticipated by opposition teams... (6/8)

It feels as though for me this club has lost its identity on the pitch and needs a complete reset next season.

It is such a shame after a season that has highlighted why #WatfordFC is such a fantastic club off the pitch... (7/8)

I hope, of course, that we'll be playing Premier League football next season, but with the way things are going I'm fully preparing for life in The Championship again.

Whatever happens we'll still be there, ready to do it all over again.
