This thread is about the fraud that these shameless thugs are committing. It's high time that the Goverment of India steps in and bans PETA.

Since 1997, Lakhmi has been an integral part of our lives in Pondicherry. PETA doesn't care about her, their interests lie elsewhere.

I had earlier made a thread about Lakshmi, how she was showered with love from everyone in the town, how the temple had made arrangements for her to live comfortably. I know this for a fact because her shed is right down the road from my house.

She has spent almost her entire life in the city, amongst people. It is impossible for her to be taken back to the wild and left there. She simply won't survive.

But that is exactly what these shallow lowlives have attempted for years, through various campaigns.

What I hear is that PETA apparently made a representation about how she was injured/unwell and mistreated at the temple to Menaka Gandhi. Thereafter, the MP shot off a letter to the local administration. For some reason, they bought all that crap.

The manner in which Lakshmi was taken away seems completely unethical and illegal. The Forest Department picked her up on the grounds that the temple had failed to furnish her health records. However, it is the Animal Husbandary Department's job to maitain these records!

Now since these frauds wax eloquent about cruelty, let me show you what the term really means.

The enclosure that was arranged for her is 8 KMs away. The Forest Department didn't arrange any transport. She was made to walk all the way on tar roads in the beginning of June.

This is how their journey with Lakshmi began, despite her foot injury being one of the grounds to take her in their possession!

At the enclosure, there was no provision for water and food for hours.

There was no shed. Fishnets were used as fencing to protect her!

The Mahouts were threatened.

On the first night, her life was at serious risk when a snake managed to come quite close.

For the next few days, Lakshmi who was used to being the town's centre of attraction was depressed. She barely ate, and didn't sleep for 5 nights.

I am not sharing the videos that I came across. I had watched her grow up alongside us, and to see her in that state for no fault of hers was heart-breaking.

Although I cannot verify this, I'm told that a temple was asked to pitch in and build her a shed in the enclosure.

So they took her away from a temple that was providing for her in every way on the grounds of mistreatment, then mistreated her in every way possible, and ultimately took temple money for her upkeep! Thank you very much @petaindia.

The next part though is very sad.

The last I heard about her, she was battling for her life. Never forget that a perfectly happy and healthy animal was taken away at the behest of PETA, and this was her condition within just 20 days!

And they are using this now to advocate for setting her free in the wild!

I mean what kind of lowlives are they? What are they even trying to do? Is it just a bunch of liberals attempting to fill the void within by doing stupid shit, or was the temple the real target?

This must have happenedwith countless animals. Temples in particular must be on PETA's radar. I'm no animal lover. It so happens that she has been like a friend for many from my generation, and therefore we have skin in the game. But just imagine the level of frauduence!

This organisation needs to be taken down.
