One of my favorite things about #WretchedJam is that something about the zine-sized format and the way people use films, music and genres as inspiration mean there’s a lot of really evocative graphic design being done in the games.
Some of my favourites, in no particular order:
Murder! by @catscratcherdev has a really strong idea for the cover design and carries it off with the panache of the softcover murder mystery novels that my family summer cottage is full of. https://catscratcher.itch.io/murder

To Reign in Hell by @FaulkCody takes the Heavy Metal theme and really runs with it! The combination of a strong statement typeface and a body serif that is easy to read but still has character makes it a joy to read. https://itch.io/jam/wretched-jam/rate/679365
Final Girl by @perpetualgloom is minimalist in just the right way. Big, easy to read type, powerful sans serif headers and lovely use of colour on the cover. Sometimes less is definitely more. https://perpetualgloom.itch.io/final-girl
Clever Girl by @mrmatthew. What can I say, I'm a sucker for well executed pastiche. The combination of the title and the instantly recognisable Jurassic Park-font are perfect for this project. https://mr-matthew.itch.io/clever-girl
The Widow's Tale by @deathbybadger is just amazingly beautiful. The art manages to evoke Disney-style fairy tales while being melancholy and poignant. https://oliverclegg.itch.io/the-widows-tale
Fake Guru Real Vice by @sealedlibrary hits a bull's eye by combining the perfect cover photo with an easy-going superheavy sans serif. It instantly screams "California Surfer/Cult Weirdness" It could be the cover to a Thomas Pyncheon novel or something. https://sealedlibrary.itch.io/fake-guru-real-vice
Rigged by @GilaRPGs has the most genre-appropriate playing card symbols I've seen. Seriously, check it out! The use of color is perfect, and I will always fall for a well made glitch effect. Everything suits the retro-futurist hacker theme perfectly. https://gilarpgs.itch.io/rigged
