Some advice for new musicians:
- Don't start with a goal of "make money / become popular"
- Make / imitate stuff you like
- Don't charge for music as an unknown artist
- Experiment with different genres
- Originality is impossible
- Some people will hate your music no matter what
1. Music is a very hard industry to become popular in, over saturated genres more so
2. People aren't as open to pay money for an artist they're not familiar with. Bandcamp makes it easy to see how much people will pay
3. Your music not being someone's taste doesn't make it bad
- Utilize social media
- Use the same name across every platform
- Avoid "official", it looks tacky
- Submit to compilations
- Post music to youtube (I don't do this cause my PC can't handle making videos)
- Remix tracks
- Don't be afraid to shitpost
