God i wish ppl would really keep the South’s name out of their mouths, especially when they don’t know what the fuck they talking bout. I’m not defending any of the fuckery that goes down here by any means..
I feel like a lot ppl talking are doing one of two things IMO 1) working under the assumption that Black folk here ain’t already aware of how fucked up it is (bitch we know, we here--60% of Black Americans as a matter of fact. we didn’t run away. how bout you and your folks?)
2) Assuming that niggas who live on east/west coast, Midwest are somehow immune to racism and/or the consequences thereof. Nigga it’s everywhere—stop using us as a poster child and/or scapegoat for all of the ass backwards racism that exists in the USA.
There’s a lot that we need but one thing we certainly do not need is the patronizing attitudes & opinions (especially from other Black ppl who ain’t even got no roots here) when people bring us up in conversation.
We working every day to do our part. We ain’t ignorant. if it wasn’t for Southern Niggas you wouldn’t have had no Civil Rights movement & that’s on periodt AND ya greasy ass grandmammy.
Y’all say “the South” & what you mean is Southern Whites & politicians like the majority of Black Americans don’t live here. Erasure ain’t cool.
