For people that are super worried about the #NBA resuming with virus numbers spiking in Florida, some food for thought.

First of all, 16 of these guys showed up with COVID. This is months after the league shut down and everyone was supposed to be in isolation...

#NBATwitter
They had to have contracted it in the last 2-3 weeks. Seems likely to me that the league's 113-page document on what they're allowed to do and procedures will mean more care is being taken than those players were on their own.

Second, the purpose of the bubble was to protect...
the players. The bubble is ineffective whether the cases in Florida are 200 or 10,000 cases a day. The game is not keeping any individual that is positive out of the bubble. That was not going to be possible in the first place.

It's about limiting everyone's interactions...
with everyone else. Period.

The players, who will be in direct physical contact during games are not allowed to play doubles ping pong.

Think about that for a moment and then think about how much more they have to have thought through those that come and go...
And the items/supplies that will be coming in.

Someone outside the players WILL bring COVID into the bubble. I believe that is a certainty. But I believe the threat to the players will be less in the bubble than it was outside based on those 16 cases.
